Solo vs Tandem vs Triple
Single flyers typically need to weigh 110+ lbs to fly alone safely. Below that you'll need a tandem partner. Triples (3 people) are offered by most operators when combined weight stays under 450 lbs. The lighter you are, the higher you fly for the same line length — physics works in your favor.
If You Are Over the Limit
If you're over 300 lbs solo or over 450 lbs as a tandem, options narrow. Call operators directly — some have flown heavier flyers with adjusted line tension and slower boat speeds. Action Watersports and Zephyr Cove tend to be the most flexible. Don't book online and show up over the limit; you'll be refused for safety.
Kids and Lightweight Flyers
Kids 5-10 typically need to fly tandem with an adult to meet minimum weight. Some operators (Action Watersports) allow lighter solo flyers down to around 80 lbs if conditions are calm. Always disclose accurate weights at booking — operators verify at check-in.
